Impcross have now established both the capability and capacity to produce Actuation Cylinders, Pistons and Valve Sleeve/Spool matched assemblies for Goodrich Actuation Systems and Smiths Aerospace.
Civil aircraft programmes for
AIRBUS and
BOEING, including products for the new generation Airbus aircraft and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, are being supported along with military aircraft programmes.
The exacting standards and tolerances required has seen Impcross enhancing its capabilities to produce both increasing volume, as civil aircraft programmes increase, and to produce the
longest and
fastest
operating Actuation Cylinders ever used on a civil airliner.
Apart from special long bed CNC lathes, Impcross have also commissioned a
‘SUPERFINISH’ cell capable of producing the surface finishes on pistons demanded by both Goodrich and Smiths. This finish will ensure high efficiency and long life by achieving the correct Bearing Ratio.
Impcross excel in the world of Precision Grinding, using their Swiss manufactured Studer Grinding Machines with detail finishing on bores produced by honing techniques.
With the ever increasing quest for more efficiency, and the more exotic materials used in civil aircraft, Impcross are supporting their customers with enhanced 4- and 5-Axis CNC machining to produce complex valve blocks in Titanium alloy. The special machining characteristics of Titanium has again resulted in specific investment for Impcross.
